Residential Garage Doors in Massachusetts and Rhode Island

Choose a new garage door or arrange repairs and maintenance for your home in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.

See a New Garage Door on Your Own Home

For a residential garage door estimate, a technician inspects, photographs and measures your opening. The office prepares your estimate with a photo of your garage showing the quoted doors.

Installation and Replacement

We install residential garage doors and replace existing doors. The free estimate visit establishes opening dimensions, clearance concerns and problems with the present door, along with your preferred appearance.

Styles and Windows

Traditional raised panels, carriage-house designs and modern flush panels offer different looks. Windows add daylight and change privacy and the view into the garage. Your garage photo shows panel proportions and window placement.

Compare Materials and Insulation

Steel, Wood and Composite Designs

Steel doors offer painted and wood-look finishes. Natural wood needs regular finish care; composite overlays offer a wood appearance over steel. The residential brochures below show construction choices and finished designs.

Choose Insulation for How You Use the Garage

Insulated panels slow heat transfer. They can be more useful in attached garages or workshops than in detached garages used for parking. Higher R-values mean greater heat-flow resistance; seals and the building also affect comfort. Panel ratings alone do not show how comfortable the garage will be.

Keep an Existing Garage Door Working

Repair Before Deciding to Replace

Compton services most residential garage door makes and models, including spring and cable repair. Uneven travel, damaged sections or closing problems need assessment; the door's condition and available parts guide spring, cable or track repairs versus replacement.

Regular Maintenance

We recommend garage door service at least every six months and offer preventive maintenance programs. Changes in movement or noise need attention; opener faults may require separate work from the door hardware.

Questions About Residential Garage Doors

How do I get an estimate for a new garage door?

Request a free estimate through our contact page or call the office.

My garage door spring broke. What should I do?

Do not try to open or operate the door. Springs are under high tension. Call (508) 399-7981; we replace broken springs.

Should I repair my garage door or replace it?

A repair may make sense if the door is otherwise sound and suitable parts are available. Significant damage or a change in the style or insulation you want can make replacement worth considering. Describe the problem when requesting an estimate.

Is an insulated garage door worth considering?

Consider how the garage is used and whether it adjoins living space. Insulation reduces heat transfer through the door, but the walls, air gaps and heating arrangement also affect the temperature inside.

How often should I have my garage door serviced?

Compton recommends service at least once every six months. Arrange attention sooner if you notice a fault rather than waiting for the next maintenance visit.

Do you repair garage doors you did not install?

Yes, we work on most makes and models. If you have a manufacturer label or paperwork for the door, include those details with your service request.
